8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.  Registration & Breakfast
8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Workshop Rotations

CRNAs will be provided a 4-hour hands-on educational seminar on the use of hands-on ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. No lecture will be provided at the conference.  However, attendees will be required to review an online 60-minute lesson prior to the conference date.  The virtual and in-person workshop will qualify for 5 CEU credits.  Attendees will rotate through four stations at the meeting: 

  • Station 1: Phantom targets. Needle approximation on gel based phantoms (low fidelity), knobology
  • Station 2: PECs 1 and PECs 2/interscalene live model scan
  • Station 3: POCUS with gastric antrum and lung scanning
  • Station 4: Adductor canal & popliteal live model scan

Program Objectives:

  • Participants will increase fundamental knowledge of the sonoantomy of the brachial plexus and fascial plane blocks of the chest
  • Participants will gain insight into the sonoanatomy of the adductor canal and sciatic nerves of the legs
  • Each course attendee will have the opportunity to enhance their needle approximation skills on phantom targets
  • Course attendees will become familiar with basic scan optimization of the ultrasound machine using depth, focal zone, gain, and where appropriate dynamic range and color flow.
  • Participants will gain a basic understanding of gastric antrum scans for "full stomach" situations, and lung scanning

Registration fee includes breakfast and refreshments.  Lunch is not included.
